SILK KID MOHAIR is a luxurious yarn, a blend of fine mulberry silk with kid mohair, obtaining a soft, extremely light and silky-looking yarn that can be knitted alone or combined together with other yarns. It’s a perfect yarn for knitting extraordinary accessories such as shawls, collars or scarves as well as luxurious larger garments such as tops, sweaters or jackets.
Mohair is a luxurious fibre obtained from the hair of the Angora goat and its main characteristics are its softness and shine. Unlike sheep's wool, which is curly , mohair hair is smoother and finer, ad is also more insulating and with more shine. The hair from the youngest goats is the most fine and is used for “kid mohair”. The mohair fibre can be mixed with silk or with different types of wool.
Washing instructions:
Hand wash in cold water
Use special detergent for wool. Do not bleach or wash with detergent containing enzymes or bleaching agent.
Iron at low temperature and preferably inside out.
Can be dry cleaned but chemical products could change the colours and softness of the wool.
Do not tumble dry nor dry in direct sunlight. Dry garment by laying it out on a towel.
